Course Curriculum
A global distribution system (GDS) connects travel sellers to travel content. A reservation or an itinerary display does not by itself prove a ticket was issued.
Travel agents interpret airport and city codes, local time, dates, connections and operating days before selling an itinerary.
An availability display lists schedule and booking-class information relevant to an itinerary search. Actual seats and fares may change before confirmation.
A Passenger Name Record (PNR) organizes the reservation. Required elements and formats differ between GDS products and airline workflows.
A ticketed journey may involve base fare, taxes, fees, fare rules, baggage conditions, deadlines and payment controls.
Reservation servicing involves verifying the record, assessing rules, communicating impacts and keeping an audit trail.
