These Pro License & Entitlement Terms explain the relationship between the open-source software license covering ShasTech SEO Synergy Pro and the separate commercial services supplied by ShasTech-IT.
1. Software license
ShasTech SEO Synergy Pro is distributed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPLv2+), as stated in the plugin package. The GPL governs your rights to run, study, modify, copy and redistribute the covered software. Nothing in these commercial terms is intended to remove or narrow rights granted by the GPL.
2. What the paid license key represents
The ShasTech license key is a commercial entitlement credential. It controls access to ShasTech-provided services such as official Pro downloads, private update delivery, customer-portal functions, site-seat management and technical support. It is not a proprietary restriction on the GPL-covered code itself.
3. Site allowances
Personal, Professional and Agency plans may have different site-seat limits. Those limits govern the number of WordPress sites that can simultaneously use ShasTech's official activation/update/support entitlement. They do not add restrictions to rights the GPL grants in copies of the software you lawfully receive.
4. Active, grace and expired entitlement
While an entitlement is active, the licensed sites can receive official Pro update metadata and authorized private package downloads. During any configured grace period, update/download entitlement may continue temporarily. After expiry or suspension, installed Pro functionality is not intentionally disabled solely because the commercial entitlement ended, but ShasTech-hosted update, download and support access may be unavailable.
5. License-key security
Keep your ShasTech customer account and license key secure. You may not sell, rent or share ShasTech account credentials or update-service credentials as a way to provide unauthorized access to ShasTech-hosted commercial services. This does not prohibit redistribution of GPL-covered software in accordance with the GPL.
6. Source code and modifications
The distributed WordPress plugin package is supplied in source-readable PHP/JavaScript/CSS form. You may modify GPL-covered code subject to the GPL. ShasTech support does not necessarily cover problems caused by modified builds, unofficial distributions or changes made by third parties.
7. Trademarks and branding
The GPL license to the software does not grant permission to represent a modified or redistributed copy as an official ShasTech release, nor does it grant trademark rights in ShasTech-IT, ShasTech SEO Synergy, logos or related branding except as allowed by applicable trademark law.
8. Updates and compatibility
Official updates are provided for supported WordPress/PHP environments while the commercial entitlement is active. We may change minimum versions when necessary for security, compatibility or maintainability.
9. No additional software restrictions
If any sentence in these commercial terms conflicts with rights granted by the GPL for GPL-covered code, the GPL controls with respect to that code. These terms remain applicable to separate ShasTech accounts, hosted services, support, payment, trademarks and commercial entitlements to the extent permitted by law.
